TIMBER TRUSSES

Timber roof trusses are engineered structural frameworks made from high-quality, treated timber. These prefabricated units are designed to support the roof of a building while distributing loads efficiently across walls or columns. Timber trusses are a popular choice in both residential and commercial construction due to their strength, design versatility, and cost-effectiveness.

At Dezzo Roofing, we specialise in the manufacture and supply of timber trusses, also commonly referred to as timber roofing systems, tailored to suit your project requirements.

Asked Question

Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome, Here, you can find answers to some of the most common questions we receive about our roofing services. If you have a question that is not answered here, please feel free to contact us.

Timber trusses can span up to 20 metres depending on the truss type, timber grade, internal wall supports and engineering design.

Timber can be susceptible to moisture, pests, or fire if not properly treated and maintained. However, Dezzo Roofing uses CCA treated and SABS-approved timber to minimise these risks.

Costs vary depending on timber size, span, roof pitch, and design. On average, timber trusses range from R450 to R1500 per square meter, but a custom quote is recommended.

Exact sizing is determined based on structural requirements.

No you cannot. Building trusses requires engineering calculations and compliance with safety standards. It’s strongly advised to use certified suppliers like Dezzo Roofing.

Typically, a minimum slope of 3–45 degrees is used, depending on the roof covering and regional climate.

SABS-approved SA pine is commonly used in South Africa due to its strength and availability.

Truss estimates are based on span, pitch, load-bearing requirements, and spacing. Dezzo Roofing provides full cost and layout estimations.
